Hi everyone! Today was a super fun day because I was at the Dawg Dash at the University of Washington! The Dawg Dash is a 5K, 10K, and a kids run at the UW that ends in the beautiful Red Square on campus.
At the end of the race there are many booths with healthy information and giveaways for the runners, and I was at the Premera Blue Cross booth. We handed out free to-go soup mugs with the recipe card for my Yummy and Lime-y Thai Coconut Chicken Soup, as well as samples of that soup. I was so happy because even though at first we were handing out samples in little cups, people liked it so much that they were requesting we fill up the free to-go soup mug instead! How cool – I was really happy that everyone liked it. We handed out 600 lbs. (OMG) of my soup!
Thanks to everyone who stopped by to say hi, and to those who tried the soup. I met so many cool people like Harry the Husky, a sweet little girl who told me that she was going to be me for Halloween (I couldn’t believe it!) and so many others.
Congratulations to everyone who ran the race! It was so inspiring to see so many people running and getting great exercise. It was really fun and we had perfect weather too – who would have thought it would be sunny and hot in October in WA?
I want to thank Premera Blue Cross and the Dawg Dash for putting on such a great event and for asking me to help. I hope everyone will be inspired to create healthier habits this fall!
XOXO

I was so honored to be with these amazing runners.
I was so flattered when this sweet girl came and told me she is dressing up as me for Halloween!
The University of Washington Marching Band was super entertaining.
Harry the Husky is COOL.
Thank you Premera, UW, and Dawg Dash for an amazing day!

Amber,
Thank you SO much for posting the photo of you and Ravenna, my ‘sweet little girl’. She can’t stop talking about you and “I want to see Amber again…for real, Mom”. 😉
Thanks again for making the Dawg Dash such a great surprise for R! Promise to send her picture after Halloween 🙂
