I love sleepover parties! I plan to have many this summer. Sleepover parties can be fun, and the foods you serve to your friends can be healthy and yummy too.

I shared some ideas on Q13 FOX Morning News. Now Kaci and Bill can have their own healthy sleepovers this summer! 🙂

No-Guilt Chocolate-Banana-Peanut-Butter-Milkshake

Ingredients
  1. 2 frozen very ripe bananas
  2. 3/4 cup unsweetened almond milk
  3. 2 Tablespoons cocoa powder
  4. 1/4 cup natural peanut butter
  5. pinch of sea salt
  6. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  7. 1 Tablespoon pure maple syrup
  8. (optional) 7 ice cubes - if you want a frostier, milder shake
Instructions
  1. Throw all the ingredients into a high-powered blender, and blend until smooth and creamy.

Well, this isn’t really a recipe, but an idea for making snacks look fun and delicious! It’s great for parties and sleepovers 😀

Your favorite healthy snack, such as
  1. Nuts
  2. Dried fruits
  3. Blueberries
  4. Grapes
  5. Granola
  6. Air-popped popcorn
  7. Pickles
  8. Olives
Instructions
  1. Find a pretty cake plate or tiered serving plate. Place cupcake liners for each snack, and fill your plate!

Build Your Own Teriyaki Bowl
This is a great dinner for sleepovers because all the kids get to choose what they want on their teriyaki bowl!

Ingredients
  1. Steamed brown rice
  2. Lean proteins such as diced chicken, flaked salmon, or tempeh
  3. Steamed or sauteed veggies (broccoli, spinach, cabbage, carrots, snow peas, zucchini)
  4. Raw veggies/fruits (diced tomato, julienned cucumber)
  5. Other toppings such as cilantro, chopped cashews, scallions, avocado
  6. Sauce, such as teriyaki or peanut sauce
Instructions
  1. Place all the buffet ingredients in bowls.
  2. Let each person start by placing some rice in their bowls, add the toppings, then a sauce.
