Using a slow cooker to cook is a great idea for us kids, because you don’t have to spend too much time (if any) at the stove or oven. This turkey chili has you just browning the turkey on the stove, and the rest of the magic happens in the slow cooker! Just dump, dump, dump and the flavors come together in the pot. It’s delicious, easy, and healthy too!

Ingredients
  1. 1 lb. Ground turkey
  2. 2 teaspoon coconut or grapeseed oil
  3. 1 package Taco seasoning
  4. 1 can 28 oz crushed tomatoes
  5. 1 can (7 oz) Mild green chilies
  6. 3 cans (16 oz) Black beans in liquid
  7. ½ teaspoon ground cumin
  8. 2 each Beef bullion cube or ‘better than buillon” paste
  9. ¼ teaspoon Black pepper
  10. 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  11. 1 medium Carrot, diced
  12. Optional toppings: diced tomatoes and diced onions
Instructions
  1. Sautee the turkey in oil until cooked through. Pour into the slow cooker.
  2. Add the rest of the ingredients. Stir, and cook on high for 4 hours or low for 8 hours.
  3. About 30 minutes before it’s done, pour in the carrots. You want the carrots to stay a bit crunchy, so don’t add it until near the end.
  4. Ladle into a bowl, top with fresh diced tomatoes and enjoy!
